A treasured place where we were given room to contemplate, share, and grow in new directions as writers — Muriel Redifer

Session 1 Faculty
Session 2 Faculty
Michael Ruhlman will teach non-fiction during second session, Nov. 10-17.
Laura Lippman will be offering individual manuscript consultations at Spannocchia for an additional fee during second session.
Fees for a manuscript consultation with Laura are:
1) Partials (25-50 pages): $400. This includes a line edit, a discussion of the project’s overview/synopsis and a one-on-one meeting to discuss all of my notes. My evaluation will include an emphasis on structure, editorial choices, and a road map for what to do after leaving the conference.
2) Full manuscripts: $750, which includes the same features listed above, but intensive line editing will be limited to a few sample chapters in order not to overwhelm. This will allow us to focus on rhetorical tics and tendencies, but will avoid the problem of “swamping” your voice. We will break down the book according to its structure and POV in a two-hour session. My working thesis is that the solution to a manuscript’s problems are already there, in the manuscript, but writers are often too close to their work to see them by this stage. I strongly urge you to bring a smart phone or a camera to photograph the charts/outlines we develop during our session. I use index cards and will give those to you, but we’ll be working on such a large canvas that you won’t be able to pack it in any suitcase! Fees are paid directly to Laura.
Please note: All fees are non-refundable. There are no exceptions.
